Grad Card

This is a card I made for my brother.. He graduated from High School last week. I didn't know what the school colors were, so I went with a simple Black & Grey look. The card needed to be masculine so I keep it pretty simple. I found a sheet of 12x12 for Graduation at my LSS and this very cool tassel.. I believe it's by Jolee's by You.

My card base is textured Going Grey and I layered it with a piece of textured Going Grey. I cut my patterned paper to size and used the ticket corner punch on the corners. I closed my card with a piece of Black Grosgrain Ribbon. And I attached the tassel just under the knot with some glue dots.. I wanted the ribbon to slide off and on, so the tassel needed to stay in place.

I didn't have any Graduation sets from Stampin' Up! or any other company so I left the front pretty plain and I think it looks great with the background paper and just the tassel. Now onto the inside, that's where the party is!

I used the new "Look Here Bigz XL Die" from Stampin' Up! I ran it through the Big Shot with a piece of Basic Grey and the I ran it through with some of the scraps from the Patterned Paper and I covered some of the arrows with it. I stamped the sentiment from the new set "Teeny Tiny Wishes" which you will see July 1st in the new catalog!

Then I punched it out with the new Modern label punch and layered that on another modern label piece I made using the new Magnetic Movers & Shapers Die set. Both will also be in the new Catty! Did you order your new Catty yet? It's not to late just click on the Shop tab above and place your order.
