Polka Dots All Around!!!

Wow early post today, it's not even noon yet here! We were supposed to have our water turned off till 2pm so they said get everything done by 8am.. So, I was up early and it's 11:30am and the water is still on..lol That's how it goes though right? If I didn't get up early I wouldn't of had any water. Early morning during Spring Break means I had some alone time!

I made a card for this weeks Color Throwdown #87 using Pink, Grey and Soft Olive. My sketch came from I ♥ 2 Stamp ..

My card base is Pretty in Pink and measures 5x5. I added a layer of retired DSP and a piece of Basic Grey that I ran through the Big Shot using the Polka Dot Embossing Folder. I stamped my Butterfly from "Flight of the Butterfly" in Pretty in Pink & Pixie Pink onto Whisper White. I added the sentiment with Basic Grey and then some grass using "Inspired by Nature" in Old Olive. To get the color lighter or softer I inked my image and then stamped on a piece of scrap paper then without re-inking it onto the Whisper White piece.

Now onto that cool looking Butterfly.. I punched out a Butterfly using some acetate and adhered it with a glue dot. Then I took another piece of acetate and ran it through the Big Shot using the same Polka Dot Embossing Folder and then punched it out with the Butterfly punch so I had a polka dotted one and then I adhered that over the first acetate butterfly.

My buttons are from the Sherbet Set and one from a retired set I think it's Kiwi Kiss. I threaded some white embroidery floss through then and adhered with a Glue Dot. I stamped the Happy Birthday from "Teeny Tiny Wishes" onto Pretty in Pink and punched it out using the Word Window punch and then I added a Brushed Silver brad. Whew!!! This is a long post, this card had a lot going on.. But it's so cute I will not be parting with this one!

Happy Stamping!
