For all those Vets...

Happy Verteran's Day to all the Active Duty, Retirees and those that have given the ultimate sacrifice!

I planned to have this card up earlier today but it didn't pan out.. My kids had school today but my Husband was home so we decided to go out this morning and then have lunch! Unfortunately, I started feeling sick right after lunch and it was home and a very long nap for me.

I made this card using this week's Sweet Stop Sketch and it ties in with this week's challenge over at Stampin' Royalty.

I love this stamp set.. it is my second favorite patriotic set... The Free and The Brave

My card base is Sahara Sand with a layer of Sahara Sand DSP (R) and they have been sponged in the same color. Then I added a strip of Always Artichoke DSP that was sponged.. and a strip of Chocolate Chip that I stamped the Stars randomly on from the set as well.. Once I adhered the CC piece I added some brads into the corners and then I stamped my focal image onto a piece of SS in CC ink and sponged the edges with SS as well..

I stamped the Thank You from Short & Sweet in Always Artichoke on a piece of SS that I punched out with the Med. Oval Punch and sponged the edges in the same color. Then I stamped a star in CC and punched it out with the small star punch and added another brad to the center.

This is a short and sweet post.. I will be back tomorrow with my Mashup! card...

P.S. The new paper trimmer I mentioned I was trying out in this post... Big waste of money, it's going back to the store tomorrow!
