Friday Mashup! #37

Sorry I've been MIA this week, it's been a crazy one.. Lots of doctor's appointments all over from here to there, a few child meltdowns and yucky weather! Needless to say my creative juices weren't flowing and when I had a chance to sit and do something for myself I chose to catch up on TV or go to bed early!

But it's Friday the start of the weekend and a new week on Monday.. So I have happy thoughts! Time once again for the Friday Mashup! and this week Shirley is up and OMG.. how great is this theme this week? Zoo Animals!

I made this card a few weeks ago because I was so excited to get this project made, it had been brewing in my head for a while! My nephew Cooper is having his first birthday in May and I was going to make a great card so I knew I had to get ahead start..lol

I started with a piece of card stock 8 1/2 x 11" and just folded it in half so I have a big card.. and I cut the Lion and train from the Cricut Cartridge Create a Critter.. I used all SU card stock and I sponged every piece with it's coordinating color.

I made the sky using a scallop circle I punched out of scrap paper and some ink.. and The hills are just Garden Green I just cut into that shape with my cutter tool kit. Same with the ground but I used my VersaMarker to give it the tone on tone effect.. for the sentiments I used the On your Birthday set.

How cute is the inside?

I stayed with the clouds and I used the Go Go Boots Sizzix letter set with the Big Shot.. and the Balloons are from the set Crazy for Cupcakes! It's just too cute.. I think he'll love it! I didn't use any brads or buttons on it because it is for a small child.

Make sure you head over to The Mashup! Blog and see all the great Zoo Animal inspired cards, we had 5 4 guest designers this week.. So, that's 7 great ideas to get you started! I hope you'll join us this week. (the Mashup! Blog post will be live after 1am CT) Have a great weekend, I hope to get some stamping done!
