Friday Mashup #20

It's Friday and time for another great Friday Mashup Challenge. This week it's my turn and cupcakes were on my mind for some reason (maybe because I haven't had one in a very long time) so, I thought what a fun challenge idea and then I needed to pair it up with something and when I saw this cute photo I knew it had to be Buttons & Cupcakes!

  1. Create a project using Buttons .

  2. Or Create a project featuring "Cupcakes".

  3. or "Mash it Up!" and create a project with Cupcakes & Buttons!

I paired the Friday Mashup Challenge with this week's Mojo Monday Sketch! This is a great sketch, I know I will be using this one again.

I started with a White card base and I added some of the new DSP called Domestic Goddess. (When you buy 3 packs of DSP you get 1 Free until the end of August!) I used the new In Colors Calypso Coral & Pool Party. I stamped the Cupcake from Crazy for Cupcakes and I omitted the candle.

I did some paper piecing with my cupcake. I stamped it again two times, once on a piece of DSP and cut out the bottom of the cupcake image. And then again onto a piece of white card stock and I colored in just the icing part and cut that out. Then I pieced them over my first cupcake on my focal piece in the center of the card.

Then I added some Crystal Effects to the sprinkles on top to give them a little shine. To cover the space where the candle was I added a small heart punched out of the same DSP. And then for the smaller circle in the Sketch I added a Daffodil Delight Button with some white Bakers Twine tied in the center. The photo corner with some paper piercing and the sentiment stamped in Basic Grey finish it off.

It's weird for me to see a card with a white base.. Not something I usually do but I have to say less is more and I love it! Make sure you head over to Mojo Monday and the Friday Mashup Blogs to play along with these great sketches.

Don't forget at the Friday Mashup it's time again for our "Fan Favorite" Contest.. You get a chance to create a Mashup Challenge! Have a great weekend.
