Going back to School for FM#23

This week Heidi is up and she has given us a "Back To School" theme using Stitching. I really wanted to bust out my sewing machine for this one but time wasn't on my side. So I chose Faux Stitching using my Paper Piercer and White Gel Pen.

So, here's the "Mashup!" challenge:
1. Create a project with "Stitching or Faux Stitching".
2. Or Create a project for "Back To School or a Teacher Gift".
3. Or "Mash it Up!" and create a "Back To School Project with Stitching"!

I wanted to use Greeting Card Kids for my card... When it comes to watercoloring this is a perfect set. I took my color palette from the Color Coach... Marina Mist, Real Red, Old Olive & Crumb Cake. My pictures are a little dark, it's been raining here for about 4 days now and it's not stopping anytime soon so there isn't much nice natural light.

I stamped the Canvas Background in Crumb Cake onto my Card Base and then I added a piece or Old Olive that I pierced along the edges. For my "Faux" Stitching  I just connected the lines using a White Gel pen. Then I added some coordinating buttons. I stamped the image onto a piece of Watercolor paper and colored it in and then I punched it out with a 2 1/2" circle. I added it to a Punched Scallop Circle and I pierced some more holes in that as well.

I took a strip of Crumb Cake DSP (retired) and I stamped For My Teacher using the Rough Edges Alphabet (retired) And I bent it into a wavy shape and attached it with some glue dots & dimensionals.

Head over to the Friday Mashup Blog and see the other great projects from the Design Team and then link up with your project we can't wait to see what you create this week. And don't forget to vote for your "Fan Favorite" . The Linky has been extended until 3pm EST on Thursday Sept. 15th.

Have a great weekend.. We are switching internet & TV providers so I will be without internet again for a few days. See ya on Monday.
