Friday Mashup #30 Recycle, Reuse, Renew!

Sorry my post is so late everyone.. I flew to Portland, OR yesterday and thought I'd be able to get all the post up once I got here and the internet in the hotel is really slow so it caused all kinds of trouble with posting here and on the  Friday Mashup Blog..But all kinks are worked out so were good to go!

This week Heidi is our host and she created this great sketch for us.. and she's asking us to Mash it up with with some Recycle! Get out those products you were going to use or maybe something you started to use and changed your mind and set it aside for later. It's all about Recycle, Reuse or Renew!

For my card I was going to use a fabric patch I had that was shaped like a heart and had a recycling symbol on it.. But once I got started it wasn't working out well with my Design so I changed it up.. All of my card stock pieces are scraps, I think this is the first card I've ever made from just scraps!

My card base is Confetti Cream with a later of Always Artichoke DSP and then I added in a few pieces of Crumb Cake. I stamped the Sanded Background onto the Piece of Crumb Cake with the same color. I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of retired Crumb Cake DSP . I wanted to banner to be a little more flexiable. I used the stamp set Trendy Tress, this is such a cute set!

I punched out a 2 1/2" Circle from Crumb Cake and then I stamped the trees.. I wanted some grass so I took some scraps and trimmed a wavy edge onto them and sponged some of the Always Artichoke ink onto them. I just layed them on the circle and then trimmed around the circle from the back side.. I ended up covering up one of the trees so I re stamped the trunk of the tree and cut it out. It looks pretty cool with that added dimension. This would be a great card for a guy with the colors I used.

Make sure you head over to the Friday Mashup Challeneg Blog and see what the rest of the Design Team created this week.. and we hope you will use Heidi's fun sketch and join us.

I'll be back next week... Have a great weekend and a Safe and Happy Halloween!!!
