Paper Lovin' Gals #11

This week at the Paper Lovin' Gals it's all about a Shiny Happy Holiday. This photo has so much shine.. I love those trees!

I choose to work with some of the colors and the trees or for my card tree! This card came out a bit different then what I was trying to do with it.. so it falls into that non traditional Christmas category for sure.

I started with an Always Artichoke card base and I ran it through the Big Shot using the Houndstooth Embossing folder. I added a scalloped border of some Newsprint DSP, Always Artichoke DSP and a strip of Silver & Confetti Vanilla with my sentiment stamped on it from Many Merry Messages.

I stamped the tree from Season of Joy onto some more Confetti Vanilla in Always Artichoke and then I punched it out with a 2 1/2" circle punch. The Silver on the image is from a uniball pen and a rhinestone brad for my tree top.  The tree image is stamped twice and then cut out and placed over the image on the Confetti piece to give it a little dimension. Then I layered it onto Always Artchoke and a Silver Scallop Circle.

Are you all set for Christmas? I'm counting the days till it's all over still Ha Ha!! I was busy this week finishing up Teacher treat for both of my son's. I had to make 24 of these little boxes, each year I try to do something different even though we are always in a different school it seems I really could do the same project..lol

This is a great project to use up scraps... I used up ribbon & paper I've had for awhile! This is the box from the Sizzix Bitty Box and Envelope Bigz XL die. I did them in Cherry Cobbler & Always Artchoke with some retired DSP. I ran out of ribbon and used Twine on the final ones and it worked just as nice as they ribbon.

These are a bit time consuming though with all the steps.. On the inside I put 2 Girardelli squares.

Head over to the Paper Lovin' Gals Blog and see what the rest of the Design team created this week.. Lots of Shine! We hope you'll play along with us this week.
