FM120 It's Christmas in July!

This week at the Friday Mashup Lisa is our hostess. Lisa LOVES and I mean LOVES Christmas, she'd be happy if it was 3 times a year..lol Her challenge is to create a Christmas card using Stripes.. and with every Mashup you have the option to do the Mashup or each challenge individually.

When I saw the upcoming Holiday Mini catalog I had to have the Festive Flurry set.. It's a set of 4 Snowflakes with coordinating dies.. But I have to say I struggled with this card for 3 days and I'm not 100% happy with how it came out and I wasn't sure how I felt about the set.

This wasn't very easy to photograph..lol The card base is Island Indigo and then I added a layer of Whisper White that I ran through the Big Shot with the Stripes Embossing Folder. I sponged the edges with Island Indigo too.. Then I die cut a tag from the Chalk Talk Framelit set and sponged the edges in Costal Cabana. I stamped Merry from Snowflake Soiree in Island Indigo and then I added some Rhinestones and Coastal Cabana ruffled ribbon.

I die cut some of the snowflakes from Glimmer paper as well and added them behind the Tag then I added a Rhinestone to the center of the Snowflake on the tag. I used the Rock N Roll technique to create the Snowflakes and then I added a Silver one in the center. I way over thought this project and that was my downfall.. But then I played around with it again and created this!

Much better and now I love this set, framelit and Bling!!!! I need to remember K.I.S.S Keep it Simple Stupid..lol  Head over to the Friday Mashup Blog and see what the rest of the Design Team created.. We hope you will join us.
