Friday Mashup #118 and on a Friday!!

This week at the Friday Mashup we're on challenge #118 and I'm your Hostess! Have you played with the new In Colors yet? They are gorgeous and I have to say, I will be very, very sad when they go away! I thought we'd use one of the New In Colors and the new Smoky Slate in the challenge this week. For your Mashup create something with a Nature theme to it!

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project using the colors "Pool Party, Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral & (Smoky Slate or Soft Suede) ".
  2. Create a project with a "Nature Theme".
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a "Nature Themed project using the Challenge Colors".

I started with a Smoky Slate card base and stamped the Wood Grain Background in the same color ink. I sponged all the layers on my card as well. Then I stamped a piece of Pool Party with the Retired Sanded Background. I wanted some more of the Crisp Cantaloupe so I added some of the Ruffled Ribbon.

For the focal area I stamped the Birds & Sentiment from thew new set Wetlands in Smoky Slate onto a piece of Whisper White and then I die cut it with the Oval Framelits. Then using my Aqua painter and Smoky Slate, Crisp Cantaloupe & Calypso Coral Inks I added a wash of color.

I die cut a larger oval from Calypso Coral and then I paper Pierced the edge after I sponged it. I adhered the image panel with just some adhesive and keep that flat. Then I added Dimensionals to the Calypso Coral piece and placed it just off centered.

In my head this card looked about 20 different ways.. I think I went a bit  too crazy with the sponging maybe. Head over to the Friday Mashup Blog and see what the rest of the Design Team created this week and we hope you will join us! The Linky is open until Wednesday the 17th @ 6pm EST.

Thanks for Stopping By!
