FM129 & A little Paper Players #164

It's FRIDAY!!!! Yes I'm yelling that at the Top of my Lungs.. I'm so glad this week is over! It's also time for a new challenge at the Friday Mashup and our hostess is the fab Erica. She is using inspiration from one of her Mother's Paintings this week. I'm also Mashing my Mashup with the Sketch over at the Paper Players.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:

  1. Create a project with using the colors "Cherry Cobbler, So Saffron & Early Espresso."
  2. Create a project using a "Fruit Image."
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project using the above "Color Combo & a Fruit Image. "

I didn't have any fruit images in my stash so I had to borrow one. I used the set Give Thanks and I love this Apple image.. I wish I keep mine after it retired.

I started with a So Saffron Card base and I stamped the Sentiment in Early Espresso. For the front panel I embossed the left edge with the woodgrain embossing folder and then I added some Early Espresso Polka Dot DSP. And some Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine. For the bottom scalloped edge I punched a piece of Cherry Cobbler using the Scalloped Ribbon Border Punch.

I think I stamped and colored this image in like 5 times before I got one I liked..lol I stamped it onto a Piece of Whisper White in Black StazOn and then I colored it using a Blender Pen and coordinating inks. I layered it onto a piece or Cherry Cobbler.

The Sketch have a circle in the center but I think it looks cute with a square too.. Head over to the Friday Mashup Blog and see what the rest of the Design Team created this week. The Linky will close Wednesday at 6pm EST. The Paper Players Link closes at 12pm PDT today.. So there is still a few hours left.

Thanks for stopping by.. Have a great Weekend!

  3. Great card, Holly! Love that you kept the two panels the same color but changed the pattern and texture. The woodgrain is fab with the rustic image that you colored so well! So glad you joined us at The Paper Players!

Do you remember a stamp class you had back in WA, where you taught us the faux metal technique with this image? Wasnt this the bucket image you used? Anyway, I remember that class :) I miss those days!
