Friday Mashup #133 with a little MoJo!!

It's been a crazy week around here.. My Youngest has surgery last week and then my Oldest took a nasty fall in the Tub Tuesday night which required a trip to the ER. So, I've had kids home for what seems like forever! But that can be a good thing too... I have time to sit and stamp without too many interruptions.

It's Friday and I'm ready for the weekend and time for a new challenge at The Friday Mashup. Our hostess is Amy and she's bringing us a Color Challenge featuring CAKE!!!

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project with the colors "Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate & Basic Grey."
  2. Create a project with a "Cake."
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project "with a Cake using the colors above."
I also used the Sketch from MoJo Monday...

I started with a Basic Grey card base and then I added a layer of Smoky Slate. The next piece is a layer of Costal Cabana that I embossed with the Square Lattice folder and the Big Shot. For the center strip I die cut several pieces of Smoky Slate with the Large Scallop boarder and adhered them together and added some Costal Cabana ruffled Ribbon. ( it started sprinkling on me outside when I took my photo, ignore the water drops.)

I added a Crushed Curry 3" Circle and then some Crushed Curry flags from the DSP. The Cake is stamped in Basic Grey onto a piece of Whisper White from then Make a Cake set. Then I stamped the cake again in Smoky Slate onto a piece of Costal Cabana and cut it out and paper Pieced it onto the main image. I colored the banners in with the Costal Cabana & Crushed Curry markers. Then I matted the piece onto a some Basic Grey card stock.

Head over to the Friday Mashup and see what the rest of the Design Team created with this color combo!! We hope you will join us.. The challenge is open until Wednesday at 6pm EST.

  2. Wow! I love the color and sketch combination, Holly. Who knew Crushed Curry would look so good with those other colors? It's gotta be one of my least favorite colors, but you made it look amazing! Love the ribbon, banners, everything.

  3. Was this the card that was giving ink issues? I don't even see stamping in Coastal Cabana. Way to punt! I love the scallop trim at the bottom!
