"Tis the Season #2.. We're going Non Traditional!

It's Thursday or Friday and that means it's time for a new challenge at 'Tis the Season your new Challenge location for Christmas All Year!!! We're on a Color Challenge Bi-Week and we are starting a non traditional color combo.. Well you didn't think we'd make it easy and give you Red & Green did ya?

We used ornaments on our graphics but you are welcome to use any objects you want using the Challenge colors of Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise & Pear Pizzazz.

I don't own  many Christmas sets which means I'm in the process of fixing So I improvised and used the Mosaic Madness set to create some ornaments. My card base is Pear Pizzazz then I added a later of Melon Mambo DSP with a Scalloped border created with the Dotted Scalloped Ribbon punch and some Silver Glimmer paper for the Glitter in the challenge. I attempted to create some scored lines along the As you may noticed they weren't very evenly spaced. I think I've only used my scoring board a few times.

I stamped the faux ornaments in the challenge colors on a piece of whisper white and and then punched them out with the coordinating punch. I added them with dimensionals after I put some Silver cord behind them. (retired SU)

The greeting is stamped in Melon Mambo from More Merry Messages. In the center of each ornament I added a rhinestone. I really like the clean look of it and the Non Traditional colors.

Head over to the 'Tis the Season Challenge blog and peek at the Design Team's projects. The challenge is open for two weeks. We hope you will join us.

  1. I love how you used the mosaic stamp/punch, what a great idea! I still cant believe you dont have ANY ornament stamps! I could have sworn I'd seen you use an ornament stamp before but I guess not.

    Great use of the colors!

  2. Holly, I really love your take on the card. It's such a unique sketch! I love it! I will totally be casing this card. Great job!
