Dynamic Duos #78 .. Thinking of you!

Happy Saturday!!! Time for a new challenge over at Dynamic Duos... This week is a "Subtly Yours" week and this color combo is perfect for a Masculine card.

I never seem to have many masculine cards on hand so I broke out the Wetlands set. It has this beautiful sketches in it that are perfect for Masculine cards.

My card base is Always Artichoke and I sponged all of my pieces with the same color ink. Then I embossed a panel of Crumb Cake with the Woodgrain folder and sponged it as well. I stamped the Bird image onto a piece of Very Vanilla in Memento Black Ink and colored it with an Aqua Painter and Crumb Cake & Always Artichoke inks.

The sentiment is stamped on Very Vanilla with some sponging around the edges. I punched out another oval from Always Artichoke and cut it in half and then matted the oval with it. I felt it needed a little thread of some kind so I added some Twine along the edge.

Head over to the Dynamic Duos challenge Blog and see what the rest of the team created. We hope you'll join us. The Challenge will close Thursday at 12pm PST.

Thanks for stopping by today.. We are in the mist of a Snowy weekend!

  1. Pretty card, Holly. I love the sponged woodgrain.

  2. wonderful card, Holly! Love the masculinity of it and the sponging is perfect. Looking forward to working with you at DD's! :)

  3. Love your masculine card!! The Wetlands set is one of my favorites and with the woodgrain EF and twine- perfection!! So excited to be designing along side of you with the DD Team - stay warm and cozy this week (and again, keep the snow up there- lol!!)

  4. Snow?! Eeek!

Fab masculine card! Thanks for sharing how you inked the embossed panel, will have to try that!

  5. Love the snow!!! I wish we had some here too! Love your man card!

  6. I love this card. I never have masculine cards either and this would be perfect! Great job!

  7. Holly, what a beautiful, "subtle" card. All your designs decisions were right on the nail--the wood-grain and natural twine supporting that Canada goose (they've been honking up a storm around here as they head south). This is one you need to produce in multiples!

  8. Great masculine card. Love the woodgrain embossing.
