Dynamic Duos # 87 It's Black Tie!

Sorry for the lack of posting this week... We had a wicked cold/sinus thing blow through the house and it took us all down one at a time until we were all out by Thursday. I seem to always get the worse of these things too. I guess because I'm the one taking care of everyone. I'm starting to feel a little better finally and it's Saturday so that means it's time for a new Challenge at Dynamic Duos!

This week it's all about " Black Tie " The colors are Black & Melon Mambo and we have an option Dessert for you.. Umbrellas.

I didn't have a single umbrella in my stash, I really need to stop getting rid of my retired Stampin' Up! Stamps.. so I have more of a variety. But then there wouldn't be any room for new stuff..lol I created a fun Birthday Card using the new set Perfect Pennants and the Hardwood Background.

I stamped the Hardwood Background in Melon Mambo onto a Melon Mambo card front and then I created some Pennants out of the Black & Melon Mambo DSP using the coordinating Framelits. I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of White in Black and then again onto a piece of White in Melon Mambo.

I die cut the Black Sentiment piece with a Framelit and then I fussy cut the Melon Mambo a part and added it to the main pennant with some glue and a dimensional behind the a. I adhered all the pennants together and then I added dimensionals to the back to adhere them to the card front.

I added some White Baker's Twine along the top and then some Rhinestones for a bit of bling! It turned out so cute!! I think I will be making some more of these in other colors for my Stash to have on hand.

Head over to the Dynamic Duos Challenge Blog and see what the other Design Team members created this week... Our Challenge runs for two weeks so you have lots of time to join us!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Great graphic design, Holly. Yes, this would be perfect to have in different colours to add to your birthday card stash. I really like the subtle texture that woodgrain background stamp gives.

  3. Love the Hardwood background stamp (at first glance I thought it was an embossing folder :-)) Love the use of the colors and the banners are the perfect graphic addition to this fab card!!
