Dynamic Duos get's Happy!!!

It's Saturday I'd be excited normally but I have to venture out in the freezing cold to the grocery store.. Blah!! But It's still Saturday and that means it's time for a new Challenge at Dynamic Duos and that's exciting!! This week it's all about " Bold & Cheery" we're using Summer Starfruit & Garden Green.

When I saw the set Happy Congratulations in the Occasions mini it was first on my list.. I love the look of paper lanterns like this.. and I think you could do a lot with this set. I wanted to make a one layer card with this that you could duplicate fast for a set with different sentiments. Sorry my pics aren't great.. It's been like 0 here and snowing and I usually take all my photos outside.

I started with an Bazill Marshmallow card base. Then I stamped the lanterns in Smoky Slate and stamped the centers in Garden Green & Summer Starfruit. The sentiment is from the set and that's stamped in Smoky Slate as well.. Simple to do.

I wanted the lanterns to have some shimmer to them and it jazzes the card up... So I added some Clear Stella Wink of Shimmer pen to each Lantern.Because our inks are water based you need to be careful with the shimmer pen because it will cause the ink to bleed.. You want to color each space separately and clean off the end of the pen in between colors. But the Finished projects is gorgeous.

Click on any picture for a larger view. My friend and fellow Stamper Heidi Baks created so great projects with this set as well... Check them out here for more inspiration. She ROCKS!!

Head over to the Dynamic Duos Challenge Blog and see what the other Design Team members created this week.. You will be blown away by the projects! The challenge is open until Thursday @ 12pm PST.

I hope you are having a great weekend... Thanks for stopping by!

  4. This IS a versatile stamp set--celebrations, like you did here, Chinese New Year, summer patio parties... Don't you LOVE that Wink of Stella pen? I've gone through one already since the holidays.

  5. Love how you used the stamps on your card - a great idea. Very pretty.
