Friday Mashup & Create w/Connie & Mary!

Friday!!!! Whoo Hoo.. I'm so excited to sleep in tomorrow! I've been staying up way too late lately and it's catching up with me. It's time for a new challenge at The Friday Mashup... This week our hostess is the lovely Heidi and she is bringing us a Color Challenge Mash'd up with some Hearts & Arrows, Look out Cupid! The Colors are Crumb Cake, Real Red & Costal Cabana. I've been on a Costal Cabana High lately. I can't get enough of this color.

I started my challenge card knowing it was hearts & arrows and then I used the Color Challenge from Create with Connie & Mary this week. I love this combo and it screams Winter too me but I went with Valentines or Love... This would be a great combo for a Masculine card as well.

I started with a Smoky Slate card base and then I added some of the elements from Gorgeous Grunge in Perfect Plum, Smoky Slate & Island Indigo. I ran a piece of Island Indigo through the Big Shot in the Arrow Folder (Occasions Mini) then cut it into a Flag/Banner shape.

I stamped the sentiment on a piece of Whisper White using the Markers in the same colors and then I matted it onto a piece of Perfect Plum and adhered it to the Banner piece. I added the Banner Piece to the Front of the card with Dimensionals.

I thought it need a little something extra so I added some Island Indigo Baker's Twine along the top and a small Heart punched from the Heart punch from a scrap of Smoky Slate. Then I added a Rhinestone to it as well. It' so pretty.. I don't think this one ill be leaving me stash. I'm in love with the Smoky Slate color.

So after I completed my card and tok photos etc.. I realized I was supposed to use Crunb Cake, Real Read & Costal Cabana for the Mashup Challenge.. It was a DUH, moment.. lol What's great about the Friday Mashup is you can do both or either or so this my Heart & Arrow portion of the Challenge.

I had some time this morning and everything was on my desk so I created a second card using the Friday Mashup Challenge colors too.

Head over to the Friday Mashup blog and see what the rest of the Design Team created this week.. The Mashup Challenge is open until Wednesday @ 6pm EST. And if you loved those Create w/ Connie & Mary colors, their challenge is open until Wednesday as well it'll close @ 12pm EST.

Thanks for stopping by!
