Cup of Cocoa for Dynamic Duos #89

Boy am I glad it's Saturday.. Whew! It's been a long week here, sorry for the lack of posting. My youngest has pneumonia and there's an illness that keeps cycling back around in our house the last few weeks. I can't seem to find 5 minutes to myself. Life of a Mom right!

It's time for a new challenge at Dynamic Duos and this week we are using Pistachio Pudding and Blushing Bride! Pistachio Pudding is my favorite In Color right now.

I dug in my stash of retired stamps.. I love this set called Like it a Latte. I went with a Hot Cup of Cocoa for a cold winter day. I used Baked Brown Sugar as one of my neutrals.

My card base is Baked Brown Sugar and then I added a layer of Pistachio Pudding. I created another layer with Blushing Bride and a piece of Pistachio Pudding Core d'nations card stock that I embossed with the Chevron folder and sanded it. Then I spritzed the layers with the Baked Brown Sugar Marker and the spritzing tool.

I wanted some dimension with the cup image.. So I stamped the cup onto a piece of white in Baked Brown Sugar and then I punched it out with the Circle Punch. I stamped the Heart, Straw & Whipped cream onto a piece of white as well and fussy cut them out. I added some Wink of Stella glitter pen to all the piece and adhered them with dimensionals.

I covered the heart & whipped topping pieces with some crystal effects. to give them a puffy look. I felt it needed something else.. Ribbon wasn't working so I added some different sizes pearls throughout the card front.. So cute and I love the soft look to it. I added my sentiment on the inside.

Head over to the Dynamic Duos Challenge Blog and see what the other Design Team members created this week.. We hope you will play along with us.. The Challenge is open until Thursday @ 12pm PST.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Squee! This is one of the first SU sets I ever bought and you are making me want to go ink it up right now. I LOVE everything about this card! The spritzing and randomly placed pearls finish it off beautifully. Thanks for the creative insertion today! :)

  3. LOVE your little cup of cocoa (sounds like you need one after this week!). The sanded/embossed panel looks great, too, and wonderful finishing touches on the inside. Great design!
