Dynamic Duos #97

Well I'd like to say I'm excited it's Saturday but it started snowing in the wee hours of the morning and it's still going strong.. I was so ready for it to be gone and looking forward to Spring. This is the Winter that will never

It's time for a new challenge at Dynamic Duos and while we had a bit of nice weather I was able to get outside and take a few photos of a my cards. This week it's "Bold & Cheery" and we're using Melon Mambo & Tempting Turquoise.

I have a few stencils in my craft stash that I've been waiting to play with and some embossing paste. So I broke them out and got started. I added a few drops of Melon Mambo reinker to the embossing paste (non SU) and created a shade of Melon Mambo and used it with a Chevron Stencil (non SU).. This was my second time playing with this and it's definitely something I will need to practice

This is my second version of this card actually... I wasn't super happy with the first one, my crafting OCD took over. Once I let the background dry I added it to a Tempting Turquoise card base and then I created a banner for my sentiment and I stamped the friend from a My Paper Pumpkin set in Melon Mambo. Then I die cut the Hello (non SU) 5 times from Tempting Turquoise and layered them for height. I adhered them with pieces of dimensionals.

I really like the way this came out.. It's different and I love the texture you get with the embossing paste. I wanted a little sparkle so I added a few rhinestones as well and viloa!

I'll go ahead and show you my first one I the paste is a little darker and there was a weird empty spot it in upper corner.. I don't know I just wasn't happy with it. It was still cute though... Head over to the Dynamic Duos Challenge and see what the other Design Team members created this week and Link up!! The challenge will be open until Thursday @ 12pm PST.

Thanks for stopping by!!! Happy Stamping!

  1. I think your card turned out really well. That paste is so cool- and adding ink to it was super. Love the graphic feel of your card, Holly.

  2. What a cool textured effect the paste makes. Cool card! :)

  3. I love how you coloured your paste to suit the challenge. I know what you mean about a learning curve with that stuff, though! Your take#2 card is awesome! Love all the dimension.

  4. Wonderful dimension and love the graphic nature of this card- great job with the embossing paste (I will have to try this technique- thanks for the tips:-))

  5. I love both cards! I really need to get some embossing paste. Cards like these 2 really inspire me to try new things!

  6. Brilliant take on the colour combo

Thank you so much for leaving a lovely comment on my blog

    Happy Friday!
