Watercolor for Card Makers Day 4 ..

It's Day 4 of the Water Color for Card Markers Class over at Online Card Classes and I'm loving all the techniques they are showing us. Today was more ways to stamp with watercolors.

I used a technique where you add ink to a clear block and spritz it and then ink your stamp with the watercolor mixture you just created on the block. This started out as a Camo I thought let's try Wild Wasabi, Old Olive, Baked Brown Sugar & Early Espresso inks. I was amazed that this was my first impression.. Not what I was looking for but it came out great!

I tried stamping it two more times and they looked I have a feeling this was one of those accidental images you get every now and then. I had stamped it off centered because I was envisioning the layout but they it didn't work. But I had already cut the card stock.

After the image dried I added a few splatters of Gold Ink that I watered down. The blend of colors I ended up with was just screaming "GOLD" Then I matted it on to a piece of gold foil card stock added the sentiment from the same set (Remembering Christmas) in Early Espresso on a piece of vellum. The card base is Early Espresso as well.

This is a very cool technique, I wish I had more solid stamps in my stash to try it with. I'lll have to add some to my wish list! If you want more info on the Card Classes click here

  1. Your deer looks awesome! Fantastic idea to turn him into a Christmas card. I'm finding with this watercolor thing, you just have to let go, and trust to the's never gonna turn out exactly as you expect. Hugs, C.

  2. Wow, love the effect on that stamp! What a fabulous card!
