We're celebrating Dad at the Friday Mashup!

FRIDAY!!! Whoot Whoot... Ah who am I kidding, now that the kids are home from school for the summer my days all seem the same. Ha Ha!! But it's Friday and time for a new challenge at the Friday Mashup and this week our hostess Lynda is celebrating DAD.. and she's added a fun Mashup! Stamp on something other then card stock.

I had my card done a few weeks ago and then I keep playing with it and ripping it apart..and redoing parts of it. I finally have it where I like it.

I stamped on a piece of brown packing paper.. If you order from Stampin' Up! you know that brown stuff we used to get in our orders. I had a piece laying around and it was perfect. I stamped the Hardwood background onto it in Crumb Cake ink and then I adhered it to a piece of scratch paper. and trimmed to size.

When I added the tilted panel to my card base it was too wide and I wanted it to fit in an envelope so I trimmed the card base down so the panel hung over and it still fit. I kinda like this look. Then I added some faux stitching with a white gel pen around the Chocolate Chip base.

I stamped the sentiment from Delightful Dozen onto a piece of Very Vanilla in Chocolate Chip ink and colored the Father's in with Old Olive ink. Then I punched it out with the wide oval and adhered it to a 2 1/2" circle of Chocolate Chip that I embossed with the Woodgrain folder.

I stamped the acorn leaves onto a piece of Very Vanilla and colored them in and fussy cut them out and adhered to the outside edge of the Oval with glue & dimensionals.  I added a few candy dots to my background.  Great Masculine card! and that packing paper gives it a great wood effect too.

Thanks for stopping by.. Be sure to head over to the Friday Mashup blog and see what the other Design Team members created this week and link up! We can't wait to see what you create with this challenge!

  2. Great idea to use that brown wrap...gosh, you know we have enough of that! I love how you angled the paper and fussy cut those leaves- just a gorgeous card all around.
