Happy Friday everyone!! Today at the Friday Mashup I'm your hostess and we are using this fun technique called Bokeh! If you haven't tried this yet, you will love it! Head over to the Mashup Blog and get the link to the tutorial and then come play along with us!
I'm kinda bummed my Bokeh doesn't show us as well in my photos.. but in real life it looks great.. Boo! I'm going to try to take some photos outdoors of it maybe that will be better.
This is a photo I took and shared on Instagram before I added the die cuts.. You can see the dots here!
I created the background on a piece of watercolor paper and then after it dried I added the dots with a stencil I created and some SU Whisper White ink and a daubber. Then I cut it out and added it to my card base with some dimensional adhesive once it was dry.
I die cut 5 of the Scripty Hello from Lawn Fawn from some SU Basic Black card stock and stacked them together. I adhered it to my card front with some Glossy Accents. Once it was attached I added some clear Wink of Stella over it and then covered it with a layer of Glossy Accents.
To finish the card off I added some Sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.. I love these things, I used the 6 & 4mm. The background is created with Distress Inks. Speaking of Pretty Pink Posh.. She's hosting a great Cutting Edge Blog Hop and since we are using Die Cuts at the Mashup this week.. Why not join in!!!
Head over to the Friday Mashup Blog and see what the other Ladies created there are so many gorgeous Bokeh cards.. We hope you'll join us! And don't forget to Hop along with Pretty Pink Posh, and see some great Die Cuts!
Thanks for Stopping by!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Holly! I love your subtle colors and the bold, black sentiment. The contrast is really pretty! And you are right, it's difficult to make the bokeh show up in photos, I've struggled with that in the past as well. Still, awesome card! TFS!

ReplyDeleteHolly, your card turned out awesome! Glad you chose this technique for our mashup. It was a bit of work, but I love how mine turned out (and the rest of the teams' too). Funny thing with my card is it did the opposite as yours...when I took the pics the circles stood out even more.
