It's Snowing!!!

Well.. if you live on the East Coast you know it is.. Ha Ha!!! Today I have a fun watercolor card for you using the Branching out set from the Alley Way Stamps!

I started with a piece of watercolor paper and I stamped the trees in Archival Black Ink and then I watercolored the background using my Peerless Watercolors in 2 shades of blue & grey. Before I started coloring the background I added some masking fluid to the trees and created a ground covering. After my image was dry I removed the masking fluid and added some shading to the trees.

Once all the watercolored areas were dry I stamped the dots from the same set in black ink and then I covered them with some Copic Opaque White... leaving a tiny ring of the black around the edge of the snowflakes. Then I added some more Opaque White to the trees and some along the trunks to resemble snow.

For the sentiment I stamped the "you're not alone" from the set Nessie and the "Hugs" from this month's free with any $40 set Moosing You onto a piece of vellum and heat embossed it in white. I liked the white edge the watercolor paper had once I removed the tape on it so I left it as a border and adhered the panel to a Night of Navy card base with some dimensionals.

This is so pretty in person.. the picture doesn't do it justice. Be sure to head over to the Alley Way Stamps blog and see some more fun inspiration from the Design Team!
