Oh Happy Day!

Happy Friday.... Yay!!! This was a very long week so happy Friday is here. It's time for a new challenge at the Friday Mashup and today our hostess is Tara and she's got a fun Sketch for us along with a technique.

I using one of the new Ombre' ink pads from Hero Arts the Pool to Nay and the Essentials by Ellen Stamp set Bold Blooms and coordinating stand alone dies. We're using the Bouncing Brayer Technique this week.. you can find a tutorial here.

Now, I totally messed this technique up but I got a pretty cool looking effect from it so I went with it. I think I rolled the brayer too much instead of just bouncing it on the paper. So I inked up the brayer with the Ombre' ink and tapped it onto the paper, turing it as I went. This is what I ended up with...

And this was actually my second attempt at this.. Ha Ha anyways, I gave it a shot and then I decided to die cut some flowers from it instead of stamping on it. I made sure I got a nice gradation on each flower.

I created white card panel and I stamped the Splatter images from the Gorgeous Grunge set from Stampin' Up! in black and the Ombre' ink and then I stamped the sentiment from the Bold Blooms set. I die cut a second set of flowers from some Basic Black card stock and created a drop shadow on each of the pieces and then I adhered them down over the splatters.

I then adhered the white panel to a Basic Black card base and viola'.. Ha Ha yeah this took me all day to get this how I wanted it.. I strayed from the sketch a bit after the 4th round. lol

Be sure to head over to the Friday Mashup blog and see what the other Design Team members created this week with the sketch and technique. Be sure to link up and join us the challenge ends on Wednesday April 22nd at 6pm EST.

Thanks for stopping by!
