Catch me if you can....

Hello everyone.. Today I have a fun card using the new Two Paper Divas set Catch me if you can... this is an adorable set all about bugs!!! This set pairs great with the Large Mason Jar set. I live in the middle of the boonies and it's the season of staying outside late and keeping the windows open. My favorite thing is it's so dark here because we don't have any lights from the city. So you get a great view of the Lightning bugs.. even when you're inside they will be right outside the windows.

I started with a piece of Navy card stock and then I created the stars with the falling star stencil from Simon Says Stamp and some White embossing paste. After the paste was dry I stamped the bugs randomly over the bottom area and colored them in with 2 different Prismacolor pencils and added a bit of a hightail around them with some yellow pigment ink and blended it with my finger.

Then I stamped the jar onto a piece of vellum and cut it out and added some shading with a Copic marker on the reverse side. I also stamped a few of the bugs on the backside of the jar as well. Then I adhered the lower part of it with some glue. I stamped the jar lid onto some white card stock and colored it in with Copics and trimmed it out. I die cut 3 boarders of grass using the Lawn Fawn grass boarder die and some Garden Green card stock. I created a Kraft card base and added the Navy panel directly to it. The sentiment is stamped onto a piece of Kraft in black ink and trimmed into a banner shape. I really like how the highlight around the bugs makes it look like they are glowing.

Head over to the Two Paper Divas Blog for more inspiration and both of these sets are available in the shop

  1. I love this card. Talk about nostalgia. I think it is great you call them lightning bugs too as I see so many call them fire flies. Guess it depends on what part of the country you live. But, this really reminded me of my childhood. Great job!
