Three Amigos for FM213

Good evening everybody...This week at the Friday Mashup our Hostess is Lisa and she's bringing us a fun color challenge Mash'd up with a Father's Day theme. I chose to just do the Father's Day theme part of the challenge this week.

My goal this week has been to pull out sets that haven't seen any ink yet and play with my watercolors a little. Have you been doing the Daily Marker 30 Day color challenge? It's a great way to challenge yourself to get even 5 minutes of coloring in a day.

I created a fun Father's Day card for my Brother's and I. This year we are combing a Gift for our Dad and I decided this would be an adorable layout for a card since there are 4 of us. I made this really fun background and then realized it was covered up by all the little critters.. Ha Ha But that's ok.

I stamped the images from the Mama Elephant set Three Amigos onto some watercolor paper in VersaFine black in and then I colored them in with some Peerless watercolors. Once they were dry I cut them out and set them aside while I created the background with some more watercolor.

Once the background panel dried I adhered it to a Kraft card base from Simon Says Stamp and then I added the little critter images some are popped up with dimensionals and others are flat in the background. I added a few of the crumbled papers and pencil image from the set as well. Too Cute! The Happy Father's Day is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set from Stampin' Up! I had trouble with it stamping clean on the watercolor paper so I ended up trimming it into strips and adding it into the frame.

Be sure to head over to the Friday Mashup blog and see what the other Design Team members created this week with this fun challenge. We hope you'll join us!

Thanks for stopping by!
