Summer Fun with the Friday Mashup!

Happy Friday... Who's ready for the weekend? It's time for a new challenge at the Friday Mashup and this week our hostess is Breelin and she's created a fun challenge for Summer! We're creating projects with a summer picnic theme and using some sunshine on our project.

I'm using the super cute set from Lawn Fawn called Happy Summer. Every picnic has to have some ants right?

I created the first panel with some Pattern paper from Lawn Fawn's Hello, Sunshine pack and a piece of scrap gingham in my stash I thin it was from Stampin' Up! I layered them and die cut them using the Zig Zag stitched rectangle dies from My Favorite Things. After I had the pieces die cut I stamped the ants onto the gingham piece with part of them hanging off onto the yellow and then I removed the gingham piece and re-stamped the ants so it looks like they are on the edge of a tablecloth. Then I glues those pieces together and added the watermelon image I colored with Copics and fussy cut.

I created a second panel from a piece of Pebbles fun in the sun pattern paper using a later of the Zig Zag stitched dies. I adhered both panel to a white card base and stamped the sentiment from teh same Happy Summer set onto a piece of white card stock and trimmed it to size. I added it with some dimensionals. The enamel dots along the edge are from the coordinating Pebbles collection Fun in the Sun. Super cute!!

Head over to the Friday Mashup Challenge blog and see what the other Design Team members created this week.. The challenge is open until Wednesday July 15th @ 6pm EST.

I'm also entering this in the Weekly challenge at MarkerPop.. this week it's anything goes.

Thanks for stopping by today!
