NND & Xyron Inspiration Week!!

This week Newton's Nook Designs and Xyron are partnering for a very awesome inspiration week! Each day there is fresh inspiration using Newton's Nook Designs products with Xyron adhesives on the NND blog and on the Xyron facebook page

I'm up today and I'm sharing a Birthday Card featuring the Cocktail Mixers Stamp and Die set and the Waves Stencil. I also used the Magnetic Tape, Teresa Collins Sticker Maker and the Tape Runner

I started with a piece of watercolor paper and I added the some Blue Waves with some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink and then Waves Stencil. I adhered the panel to a top folding A2 size card base. I set that card base aside to dry and stamped each of the cocktails onto some X-Press It Blending cardstock and colored them in with Copics. I added some extra details with a White Gel pen and Clear Wink of Stell pen. Then I trimmed each cocktail out with the scissors leaving about 1/4" around each one.

I added some clear packing tape over each cocktail image making sure to seal it on both the front and back sides. You could also use one of the many Xyron laminators they carry in their line as well. Once I had each one sealed up with the tape I ran them through my Big Shot with the coordinating dies to cut them out. *Tip: Run each one through several times to ensure it cuts the tape all the way through. Remove them from the Big Shot and run your bone folder over to make sure everything is sealed.

Then I cut the Magnetic tape to fit behind each cocktail. I added a second piece on the magnetic tape as well with the adhesive side up. When I place the images on the card where I want them this ensures the second magnet went where I wanted it to on the card base to adhered the magnet to the card.

I ran three pieces of White cardstock through the sticker maker and then I cut each one with the Cheers Die cut from the Cocktail Mixer stamp set. I removed the adhesive back and adhered each of them together creating. I adhered it over the cocktails with some foam tape leaving enough room for the Happy Birthday sentiment strip.

This is a fun way to reuse your images, they can be placed on the fridge as little magnets for the recipient or you can use them on place cards for a party and more...
